career.UKG is seeking a seasoned and highly skilled Software
Engineering Manager to join our team. You will lead the design,
development, deployment, and maintenance of our global Kubernetes
platform, managing a team of platform engineers. Your role is
crucial in enabling AI-driven DevOps practices, continuous delivery
pipelines, and ensuring system reliability. You will collaborate
with engineering teams to maintain the platform's reliability,
scalability, and security.Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, implement, and manage cloud platform solutions
supporting Kubernetes clusters across multi-cloud or hybrid
environments (GCP, AWS, On-Prem).
- Manage and mentor a team of cloud platform developers and
Kubernetes engineers.
- Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of cloud and
on-premise services.
- Automate platform operations using AI agents, Helm, GitOps
workflows (ArgoCD, Pulumi).
- Establish and enforce governance policies around RBAC, network
policies, and resource limits within Kubernetes.
- Design and implement best practices for container
orchestration, service mesh, ingress controllers, and workload
security.
- Partner with Engineering and DevOps teams to support CI/CD
pipelines, observability, and incident response.
- Monitor cluster health, performance, and capacity using tools
like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stacks.
- Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Stay updated with the latest cloud and on-premise technologies
and best practices.
- Provide tools, procedures, and solutions for standardized
resource provisioning.
- Document all platform services, including Run Books and
architecture diagrams.
- Drive adoption of innovative tooling and processes within the
CNCF ecosystem.
- Ensure compliance of platform components within a complex
regulatory environment.Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related
field.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience managing large-scale
cloud platforms.
- 3+ years managing production Kubernetes environments.
- Strong knowledge of Golang, Python, and automation tools like
Terraform and Ansible.
- Extensive experience with Helm, ArgoCD, Pulumi, Prometheus, and
service mesh tools.
- Experience leading teams and managing complex cloud-native
projects.
- Strong understanding of security best practices for cloud and
on-premise environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker,
Kubernetes) and microservices architectures.
- Strong scripting skills in multiple languages (e.g., Python,
